It takes a lot of work to change the world. Even the task of operating a single 440-seat historic theater is daunting and filled with hardships and surprises. Fortunately for us, Jinx Brew, former Board President and the leader of the Braumart effort since its inception, is up to the challenge. The effort to restore and operate the Braumart has grown to the point where it needs full-time attention, and Jinx has accepted the position of Executive Director of the Braumart. 

Ms. Brew, was a board member since inception and acted as President for seven years. She offers experience as a small business management/ownership (23 years),  president of food manufacturing company (16 years) and most currently employed as floral designer (14 years). She has also served as a Board member of Iron Mountain Downtown Development Authority, past chairperson and member of Main Street Promotion Committee-Farmers and Artisans Market board member, member GFWC Iron Mountain-Kingsford Women’s Club, member Dickinson County Community Theatre since 1979 -past president and board member.

Tim Haagensen

Board Member

Mr. Haagensen joined the Friends of the Braumart in 2013, after seeking opportunities to volunteer in his local community. Originally from Milwaukee, WI, Tim came to the Iron Mountain, MI area in 2011. After attending UW-Milwaukee and Milwaukee Area Technical College, he joined an apprenticeship for utility engineering and obtained his journeyman's card in 2011. He is an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, and a member of Triangle Fraternity from the UW-Milwaukee chapter, where he served as chapter vice-president, chapter president, and alumni secretary. Mr. Haagensen has served Friends of the Braumart as historian, secretary, and president and is on the Maintenance Committee. He has served on the board of directors for the Dickinson County Community Theatre and his employer's Employee Mutual Benefit Association.

Rodney Kjell


Mr. Kjell joined the Board of Friends of the Braumart in 2017 and served as Secretary for two years. He is currently serving his first term as  President. He has been an active volunteer for several years, helping with maintenance, construction issues, and film screenings. He is a Field Engineer for Carestream Health. Mr. Kjell is an active member and volunteer for his church, serving on the Deacon Board, the Wednesday Night meal, The Sound Board, Vacation Bible School and children’s programming. Mr. Kjell is also the Board Chair for the Dickinson County Community Theatre.

Audrey Smith

Emerites Board Member

Ms. Smith has been a member of Friends of the Braumart since its inception. She was instrumental in creating the Friends of the Braumart organization. Smith served three terms as Treasurer. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Michigan, a Master of Architecture from the University of Texas and a secondary science teaching certification. Ms. Smith served as Secretary for Friends of the Braumart for five years and was go-to person for Friends of the Braumart newsletters. She is actively involved in Community Theatre and has served several terms as Treasurer and Secretary of the local community theater group. She is also a member of the Dickinson County Library Board and is a member of Borderland Arts and Iron Mountain-Kingsford Women's Club. Smith continues to contribute to all aspects of the Braumart project.

Dr. Nelson Hassell, O.D.

Board Member

Dr. Hassell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Micro Biology and a Minor in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1986 from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He has owned and operated his business for 25 years. Dr. Hassell is a Vision USA Volunteer, an Infant See Volunteer and currently serves on the Board of an area bank. Dr. Hassell serves on the Friends of the Braumart Board Recruitment Committee. He has been an active supporter of the arts for many years.

Fay Mannon-Rahoi


Ms. Manon-Rahoi was elected to the board in 2015.  She is co-owner of CCM 2000, a consulting company with international clients which introduces new alloy products for specific applications in the metal industry. She graduated from Marshall University in Huntington, WV.  Ms. Mannon-Rahoi is a member of professional organizations related to her work: NACE, ASME, ASTM and AWS.  She is a board member of the Iron Mountain Downtown Development Authority, member of Kiwanis, Northwoods Garden Club and GFWC. Her role with the Friends of the Braumart involves team building and marketing. She chairs the Community Outreach Committee.

Lynn Hitt

Board Member and Volunteer Coordinator

Ms. Hitt has volunteered for the Friends of the Braumart for many years and became a Board member in 2015. Originally from New Jersey, Hitt worked for 26 years as a Purchasing manager for Technetics Corp/Brunswick Corp., retired. Worked 10 years at Issues and Answers in Iron Mountain and several years for The Daily News. Hitt is an active volunteer in our community, working for the last ten years with DDA events like Italian Fest, Out To Lunch and Oktoberfest. Is a past member of IM/K GFWC. Hitt is currently owner of What's UP Appearal.  Hitt is the Volunteer Coordinator for Friends of the Braumart - recruiting, providing orientations and scheduling for events and projects.

Paul Guiliani

Board Member

A native to Iron Mountain, Paul started volunteering for Community Performing Arts Center haunted house in 2000 till 2006. Currently enrolled at Bay de Noc Community College studying Computer Network Systems and Security. Experienced Techy he also enjoys camping and occasional dancing. He started helping Friends of the Braumart in early 2017 and Currently Serving his first term on the Board of Directors. Some things he is helping with are the website, IT related needs, and helping with running The Braumart Classic Movie Series and will continue helping make the theatre a place to talk about for years to come.
