To be the center for Arts, Culture and Entertainment in Upper Michigan’s Dickinson County. A home for all artistic disciplines that showcases both established and emergent artists while promoting cultural, historical, educational and economic growth for the area.
The Braumart provides a central location in Downtown Iron Mountain for the arts, culture and popular entertainment to be showcased in a beautiful historic building.
The Braumart supports established artists and provides educational resources to inspire emergent artists in our home community.
The Braumart works closely with the local business community to improve the quality of life in Dickinson County through the arts while encouraging economic growth.
OUR PLAN
In 2025 The Braumart will turn 100 years old.
To celebrate this community milestone, the Friends of the Braumart have outlined a phased series of renovation goals that will both honor The Braumart’s historic facade and ensure it can meet the technical demands of a contemporary performing arts center.
Phase One
Renovate The Braumart stage, adding square footage to expand its footprint allowing for the installation of a new fly space, and modernized lighting, screen and sound technology.
phase Two
Upgrade the auditorium seating, remodel the lobby, reconfigure the current second-floor offices to accommodate events, educational workshops and artist residencies.
Phase Three
Rehabilitate the front facade of The Braumart with modernized lighting and a new marquee.
